What a cracking litte game we had against Lockside although we did have some makeshift positions with the last minute cry off by Rupert in the front row who was suddendly promoted to traffic duty!
Mike and Nick were off skiing, Dave U was in Dorset, Steve was in the Maldives , JT was in the gym, Ben was still out, John K was working and Mike Buckley was playing happy families.
However, we managed to get a good side together and it was very much even stevens with just one try in it but on the touchline both Manager/Coach in the shape of Iron Man Bianchi and myself were anxious to make a few stragic moves.
This message was conveyed to the skipper, len, who had put up a sterling show for LJ and Polly on the touchline and led the side very well.
All going very well and Ross and Jamie worked a few good moves and were about to bring off a few tries when the ref decided to abandon the game 7 minutes before the end......aparently there had been a litte show of handbags which the ref thought had got out of hand!!
Final result a draw on account of game being abandond!!
